Care & Maintenance

For best print quality, adhesion, and consistency, DTF film should be stored properly to prevent moisture damage, curling, or surface contamination. Follow these best-practice guidelines:

Temperature

Store DTF film in a controlled environment between 60°F and 80°F (15°C–27°C). Avoid extreme heat or cold, which can cause warping or adhesion issues.

Humidity

Maintain relative humidity between 40% and 60%. Excess moisture can affect ink adhesion and powder bonding, while overly dry conditions may cause static.

Light Exposure

Keep film out of direct sunlight and away from UV exposure. Prolonged light exposure can degrade the coating and reduce transfer quality.

Storage Position

Store film flat in its original packaging when possible. If storing rolls, keep them upright and properly supported to prevent edge damage or telescoping.

Handling

Handle film with clean, dry hands to avoid oils or debris contaminating the coating. Keep film covered when not in use.

Acclimation Before Use

Allow film to acclimate to the printing environment for several hours before use, especially if moved from a cooler or more humid location.

Avoid

Folding or creasing film, exposing it to high humidity, placing heavy objects on top of sheets, or storing it near heat sources or open windows.

Proper storage helps maintain coating integrity, ensures consistent ink release, and improves overall DTF transfer results.

For best performance, color consistency, and shelf life, DTF ink should be stored under controlled conditions. For best results use ink within one year of manufacture date. Follow these best-practice guidelines:

Temperature

Store DTF ink between 60°F and 80°F (15°C–27°C). Avoid extreme heat or cold, and do not allow ink to freeze or overheat.

Light Exposure

Keep ink out of direct sunlight and store it in a cool, shaded area. Prolonged exposure to light can degrade pigments over time.

Container Handling

Always keep ink bottles tightly sealed when not in use to prevent drying or thickening. Store bottles upright and minimize air exposure.

Agitation

Gently shake or roll ink bottles before use to properly re-suspend pigments. Avoid excessive shaking, which can introduce air bubbles.

After Opening

Use opened ink within the manufacturer’s recommended timeframe. Prevent cross-contamination between colors and clean bottle openings before resealing.

Cold Exposure

If ink has been exposed to low temperatures, allow it to return to room temperature naturally before use. Gently agitate once warmed. Do not apply direct heat.

Avoid

Storing ink near heaters or windows, leaving containers open for extended periods, or placing ink in high-humidity or poorly ventilated areas.

Proper storage helps maintain ink quality, reduces printer issues, and ensures consistent print results.
